Understanding Guiding Light Residences
What is Guiding Light Residences? GLR is a structured, substance-free recovery residence for adults committed to recovery, accountability, and independent living. Is GLR a treatment center? No. GLR is not a detoxification, inpatient-treatment, medical, therapy, clinical-counseling, or medication-administration provider.
Admissions and Application Process
Does submitting an application guarantee a bed? No. Admission and bed placement require review, available space, completion of required documents, and final GLR approval. How do I apply? Select the Apply for Residency button and complete the secure online application.
Program Expectations and Policies
Are residents required to attend recovery meetings? Yes. Meeting expectations are based on GLR policy, the resident’s recovery plan, length of stay, and work or school schedule. Are medications permitted? Prescribed medications and MAT/MOUD may be permitted when properly disclosed, taken as prescribed, safely stored, and handled according to GLR policy. Are overnight visitors allowed? No. Overnight visitors are prohibited. Approved visitors may be permitted in designated common areas according to GLR visitor rules.
